Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities and experience with retail sales or merchandising are a plus.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments accurately and securely
- Provide product information and perform product demos when needed
- Upsell additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure proper merchandising at the register
- Assist customers with inquiries, returns, or exchanges using excellent phone etiquette
- Keep track of inventory levels and communicate stock needs to management
- Ensure adherence to company policies regarding cash handling and customer service standards
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and basic math calculations
- Knowledge of retail sales, merchandising, and upselling techniques
- Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Organizational skills to maintain a clean and orderly checkout area
- Familiarity with technology sales or product demos is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple customers simultaneously while maintaining professionalism
- Good phone etiquette for assisting customers over the phone when necessary
Pay: $17.85 per hour
