Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Red Seal Journeyman/woman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical expertise, including industrial and construction experience, and be capable of working independently on complex projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse electrical installations, maintenance, and renovation projects across various settings. Candidates must hold a valid Red Seal certification and demonstrate proficiency in a broad range of electrical skills, including blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The position requires a professional with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent hand and power tool skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Duties
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and renovation environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
- Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and schematics to support automation projects.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for wiring, conduit bending, and equipment installation.
- Conduct renovations by upgrading existing electrical systems or installing new wiring in compliance with code standards.
- Perform testing of electrical circuits and systems to verify proper operation; diagnose issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Assist in the planning and execution of electrical projects from conception through completion while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as plumbers or HVAC technicians during renovation or construction projects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal Journeyman/woman Electrician certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, low voltage systems, PLCs, and power tools operation.
- Construction experience with a focus on electrical installations during new builds or renovations.
- Handyman skills that support troubleshooting across various systems; experience with renovation projects is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics for complex electrical systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
