The Role:
Key Responsibilities include:
- Act as primary spokesperson for the Co-operative at industry meetings, by answering phone calls, and initiating or responding to email communications.
- Oversee the retail business by staying abreast of store performance and functioning
- Provide leadership and direction to staff
- Assist with idea generation and problem solving
- Oversee the onboarding of new staff and uphold company policies
- Handle communications with bankers and lenders, shareholders, retail managers, and board of directors
- Team up with the lead accountant to oversee the financial performance of the Co-operative
- Prepare and present profit/loss reports and annual budget
- Ensure accurate financial records and reports are being generated by the accounting team in time to facilitate year end auditing processes
- Participate in regular board meetings. Address minor operational concerns, and communicate with the board of directors on major concerns and decision making
- Develop business strategies that bolster the Co-operative and are profitable
- Be an example of integrity, honesty and good work ethic
