Sarata Manufacturing is hiring a CNC Laser Operator & Nesting Programmer for our growing metal fabrication facility.
The main responsibility of this position is preparing accurate and material-efficient nests for plate and tube laser cutting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare production-ready nests from DXF, DWG, and STEP files
- Maximize sheet and tube material utilization
- Operate CNC plate and tube laser cutting machines
- Select the correct material, thickness, quantity, and cutting parameters
- Load and unload materials and finished parts
- Inspect completed parts according to drawings
- Troubleshoot nesting, programming, and cutting issues
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and daily inspections
- Monitor consumables and report machine service requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications
- Previous laser nesting or CAM programming experience
- Experience operating and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Knowledge of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
