TDE Construction is searching for a Journeyman Millwright for upcoming projects in Hope Bay, Nunavut.
Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to:
- Troubleshoot, repair, installation, and alignment of mechanical apparatus such as: Pumps, Compressors & Fans, Conveyors & Handling Equipment, Overhead cranes, Other rotating equipment.
- Work alongside the personnel from various disciplines.
- Coordinate and supervise electrical shutdowns as necessary for maintenance of equipment in accordance with LOTO Procedures.
- Read drawings for layout of compressors, pumps and motors for mine equipment and field packages.
- Complete assembly of mine rotating equipment in a new construction environment.
- Complete precision alignments to manufactures requirements for rotating equipment and prime movers.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Able to follow instructions exactly as given.
- Mentor and work closely with Millwright Apprentices.
- Report any issues and/or concerns to the General Superintendent.
Qualifications:
- 2 + years experience as a Journeyman Millwright.
- Journeyman Certification.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code would be an asset.
- Experience in rebuilding gear box drives, alignment of chain drives, belt drives, and couplings.
- Working knowledge and background in fabrication, manufacturing, and construction is essential.
- Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
- If not local to Hope Bay, Nunavut must be willing to travel to the site.
- Must be available for a fly-in/fly-out rotation schedule working 12 hour days.
