The Communications Specialist manages the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of communications strategies and initiatives for Western Technology Services (WTS) with a goal of building and promoting WTS technology solutions and services to the campus community in support of the teaching and research missions of the University. The role will collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts in WTS and other university areas to design, create, and assess communications and marketing efforts, develop a cohesive communication strategy using all communication channels available (e.g., web, email, social media, print, etc.), manage campus-wide communications projects, and provide advice on related matters. The Communications Specialist will work in collaboration to develop and implement new and revised communications strategies, plans, processes and best practices and will protect, promote, and enhance the brand and reputation of WTS, and in turn Western, by managing communications and ensuring adherence with University policies and guidelines.
