Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shunter Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely maneuvering freight vehicles within facility, ensuring efficient movement of goods, and maintaining operational safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and safety are paramount.
Duties
- Operate heavy-duty shunter trucks to move freight containers and trailers within the yard or terminal area
- Safely connect and disconnect trailers from tractors, ensuring proper coupling and safety procedures are followed
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Follow all traffic regulations and company policies while operating vehicles within the premises
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks, or heavy equipment in a logistics or warehouse environment
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards related to yard operations
- Experience with automotive repair or basic vehicle maintenance is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred
- Prior experience in freight transportation, yard management, or related roles will be highly regarded
