Process Engineer / Engineering Technologist

Position Summary:
As our client base continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled Process Engineer / Engineering Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will provide process engineering expertise for diverse oil and gas projects, contributing to design, development, integration, testing, and validation. This role encompasses all project phases, from initial quotations to final project invoicing and guarantee administration, delivering value and quality to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design efficient processes for oil and gas applications, including dehydration, separation, metering, and pumping.
- Utilize process simulation tools like Symmetry (VMGSim) ; prior experience is beneficial.
- Size lines, separation equipment, pumps, heat exchangers, control valves, and pressure safety valves (PSVs).
- Review design deliverables to ensure alignment with the project scope and resolve technical issues related to engineering design and equipment.
- Support project management by monitoring projects from design through delivery, reviewing drawings, and implementing design adjustments as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and third-party engineering providers to deliver comprehensive engineering support.
- Adhere to Opsco’s Safety Policy and Code of Ethics.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (preferred).
- Preferred be registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta or CET prior to the first day of employment;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fabrication or EPC environment.
- Manufacturing shop experience is highly desirable.
- Strong technical understanding of Symmetry (VMGSim) and sizing program programs or experience with other process simulation programs ( HYSIS, Promax) is a definite asset;
- Familiarity with API-520, API-521, ASME B31.3, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
- In-depth knowledge of drafting, fabrication, machine shop practices, and project management processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain a high level of organization.

This position is based at Opsco’s office on 285175 Kleysen Way, Rocky View County, Alberta (near 84th Street in SE Calgary). This location is not serviced by public transit, so a reliable means of transportation is required.
