Job Summary
We are seeking a full time (or close to at 4 days a week) Veterinary Receptionist to join our small animal practice. The candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a love for pets and their owners, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. We would need someone for one Thursday evening until 7 pm a week but no after hours or weekends.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly as they arrive at the clinic.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for our veterinarian.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Process patient records and maintain accurate documentation in our computer system.
- Handle billing and payment transactions efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Provide clients with information on pet health, wellness programs, and clinic services.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic for at least one year or certification from a veterinary office assistant program.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor towards both clients and pets.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping; familiarity with veterinary software is advantageous.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
