We're looking for 1-2 people to join our small Rockwool (Roxul) cutting crew at our Cobourg manufacturing plant. You'll be taking boards of dense Rockwool insulation, safely putting them in the cutting unit, stacking them onto pallets when they come out the other side, plastic wrapping the bundles and moving them elsewhere in the plant by manual pallet truck. We use these sticks ('lamellas') to make fire-rated insulated metal building panels on our machine. The core prep room is ventilated and shaded with seasonal heating and limited AC. Other tasks such as helping load the Rockwool into the manufacturing line during production runs, sweeping and organizing, moving other materials around the plant are required, and your help will occasionally be needed in other departments on the manufacturing floor.
The full-time hours are 8AM-4:30PM, Mon to Fri- no weekends or overnights. Stat holidays are paid, and voluntary overtime is occasionally available. You'll be on your feet in your own steel-toed boots during your shift, but you'll get two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch break. Dust masks and other PPE items are available if desired. You'll be added to our payroll and paid bi-weekly per our regular schedule. No formal experience required- we'll train you. After you have successfully completed the 90 day probation period, our optional benefits and RSP programs will then be available to you.
