Temporary Part-Time Server

Reports To - Hospitality Supervisor
Summary
The Server is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all patrons of the Out Back Shack (OBS) restaurant. Key duties include taking accurate orders, entering them into the POS system, serving food and beverages in a timely manner, and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the menu and daily specials. The Server plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional dining experience while upholding all restaurant policies and cleanliness standards.
This role may also support other areas within the Hospitality department as needed.
Job Duties
- Greet guests and take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all menu items and specials.
- Serve food and drinks professionally and courteously.
- Set and clear tables according to restaurant standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of dining areas and service stations.
- Refill condiments and maintain table settings.
- Present bills and process payments accurately.
- Assist guests with inquiries and resolve concerns promptly.
- Participate in fire and evacuation drills; know all emergency exits.
- Train and support new or junior staff as needed.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Float to other Hospitality areas to support staffing needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a serving role, preferably in a full-service restaurant setting.
- Valid Smart Serve certification
- Good understanding of alcoholic beverage types and responsible service practices in compliance with licensing regulations.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and email
- Professional demeanor and team-oriented attitude
- Safe Bar training considered an asset
