The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for the Events and Experience team, actively participating in guest service delivery. Responsible for training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, guiding Events and Experience Facilitators through pre-season preparation and on-the-job development. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support with tasks related to the sale and booking of wedding/corporate event packages and special events.
- Attend site visits for weddings, corporate & film shoots, and sales
- Assist with administration required for events (quotes, communications to internal/external clients, customer service)
- Support with gathering/preparing event planning documents (permits, insurance, public health, Standard Operating Procedures)
- Identify and implement creative solutions to guest challenges.
- Assist with onsite event logistics including material coordination, health and safety, etc
- Support with setup, takedown and operation of special events and functions
- Support event facilitators with event inventory including the storage and care of event supplies and equipment
- Support with managing event budgets including expenses and revenues
- Ensure Events and Experience Facilitators deliver professional, friendly, and knowledgeable service, enhancing the guest experience. Promote awareness of park events, policies, and procedures to enrich guest interactions.
- Collaborate with all departments to assist guests with inquiries, resolve concerns, and streamline operations. Help manage lineups, alleviate bottlenecks, and address complex challenges efficiently.
- Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in parks, resorts, or similar outdoor recreational settings.
- Demonstrated success in leading customer service teams, with a focus on coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Ability to provide direction and leadership to team and work with internal/external stakeholders (vendors, businesses, and organizations)
- Capable of handling challenging situations in a fast-paced environment calmly and professionally, maintaining a guest-first approach.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, outdoor setting while maintaining high service standards.
- Strong attention to detail, with effective time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Experience with event planning logistics, including pre-planning, day of, and post planning is an asset
- Experience in recreation and leisure services with a focus on events management/planning is an asset
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and ability to learn new systems
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
- Successful candidates are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
- Standard First Aid & CPR an asset
- CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work during peak operational times including weekends, holidays, and some evenings. Ability to work flexible shifts with varying hours, depending on visitation levels.
- This role will be required to be available at times outside of regularly scheduled work hours and may include evening and weekend work to attend meetings, events and/or be available to respond to inquiries and other communication via email or phone calls.
- Starting at $24.97 per hour
- Part time and full-time hours available; hours may vary depending on availability
- The position’s expected start date is September 21, 2026
