MacEwan University’s Office of Research Services invites applications for a full-time, limited term Community Engagement Facilitator position, with an end date on or before August 31, 2028.
This position will support the development, coordination, and strengthening of community-engaged research and scholarly activity across the university. As a Community Engagement Facilitator, you will be the primary liaison between community partners, Faculties, and Schools. You will serve as a central resource for Faculties, Schools, and researchers, supporting thedevelopment of productive and collaborative partnerships that advance research and creative activity locally, nationally, and internationally.
The role will focus on advancing meaningful, ethical, and mutually beneficial research partnerships that connect MacEwan scholars and students with community, public, non-profit, industry, and other external partners. The role requires sound professional judgment, strong relationship-building skills, adherence to ethical standards, and specialized knowledge developed through research, education, training, and experience.
You will provide leadership and support learning opportunities related to emergent research and creative activity opportunities at MacEwan; maintain expertise in related areas such as knowledge mobilization and translation, community-based research, community-engaged scholarship, and research impact; establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key community partners by coordinating community engagement opportunities across the academy in support of research and scholarly goals; helping connect community-identified needs with scholarly expertise at MacEwan; facilitating early-stage conversations that may lead to research collaborations; liaise with Faculties, Schools, researchers, and relevant university units to identify and support community-engaged research and scholarly collaboration opportunities; supporting practices that reflect reciprocity, ethical engagement, and respect for community priorities; assist with tracking and reporting on community-engaged research activities.
You will possess an understanding of the Canadian post-secondary system and the strategic importance of relationships with community and industry partners; familiarity with MacEwan’s Strategic Vision, Teaching Greatness 2030, and Tactical Plan for Scholarship, and a passion for effective development and management of stakeholder relations with internal and external partners to support the building of long-term partnerships. You must be able to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and navigate complex systems and evolving priorities. You will also bring advanced written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation, facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, and consensus-building abilities.
You will hold a minimum of a master’s degree and at least five years of experience in higher education. This position will require occasional evening and weekend work.
