General Carpenter
Fort Sands Construction is looking for an experienced carpenter / handyman to join our Company to expand our Edmonton team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with all types of construction on condos and commercial buildings. Some areas would be:
- Vinyl Decking
- Sealant
- Stucco
- Roofing
- Concrete
Majority of the work will be completing small repairs or warranty items.
This is a full-time position and you can be an employee or contractor. You must have your own tools, a valid driver’s license and a reliable truck. We offer a competitive wage for the right experience.
Responsibilities:
- Build, repair and maintain decks, patios, and other outdoor structures
- Interpret and follow construction plans and blueprints
- Measure and cut materials to the correct size
- Install structural components, such as beams and joists
- Install decking materials, railings, and stairs
- Install aluminum railings
- Work with a variety of materials, including wood, and composite
- Restoration rebuild projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- 5+ years of carpenter experience
- Experience with Hardie siding and vinyl decking membranes is definitely an asset.
- Previous experience with railing installation
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
