About the Role
New Heights School & Learning Services (est. 1999), is a kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school serving approximately 125 neurodivergent students, including those with autism spectrum disorder and similar learning differences. Our approach builds on and engages each student’s strengths and interests to address developmental goals while teaching the Alberta Program of Studies.
New Heights currently has openings in their High School teaching team
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Teacher will:
- Support the students by teaching, using and modeling strategies
- Collaborate to determine approaches that are most effective for the students
- Adapt and modify curriculum objectives to meet each student where they are at
- Develop and implement engaging learning activities to address specified emotional and academic goals
- Monitor, assess and document students’ progress
Qualifications:
- An active Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience working with youth with autism spectrum disorder or similar social and learning challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to be self-directed, flexible, highly motivated and to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
