Labourer / Metal Trades - Manufacturing Facility

Specific Mechanical Systems Ltd. is a Victoria, BC based manufacturer of micro-brewing and distillation equipment, pressure vessels, food processing equipment, pharmaceutical vessels, and water/waste water treatment plants. We are a global leader and require motivated applicants looking to grow with the company over the long term. A Metal Finisher / Labourer is needed to join the Finishing Department
Shift: Full-time day and afternoon shifts
Qualifications Hands on mechanical and fabrication shop experience;
Extensive use of various power tools, grinders, polishers; Industrial/manufacturing experience;
Proven attendance and safety record.
Key Competencies
Attention to mechanical detail and quality;
Organized, self-starting, proactive get-the-job-done-right attitude;
Leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring experience an asset;
Able to keep daily notes and records;
Key Duties
Use a variety of power and hand tools to produce required finishes on stainless and copper equipment;
Assist in work flow organization and prioritization; Use correct techniques (training provided) in a safe and efficient manner;
Safely and efficiently organize, set up, handle and transfer work pieces;
Co-operate and coordinate with other departments; e.g., welding and shipping.

High degree of ownership for work area, tools and equipment;
High degree of responsibility for meeting production schedules and maintaining quality;
Screening based on sharpness of character and work ethic.
The starting wage depends on experience.
