Job Summary
KNVA Mechanical Group Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our growing mechanical contracting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting operations, payroll, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and construction-related financial documentation for HVAC and Plumbing projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare customer invoices, progress billings, and payment follow-ups
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain financial records
- Process payroll and maintain employee pay records
- Prepare ROEs, WSIB remittances, and HST filings
- Track project costs, labour costs, and job costing reports
- Maintain subcontractor and supplier payment records
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Prepare statutory declarations and other project-related documentation
- Coordinate with project managers regarding project budgets and expenses
- Maintain QuickBooks and accounting system accuracy
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum 2–5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in construction or mechanical contracting industry preferred
- Knowledge of payroll processing, WSIB, HST, and job costing
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC & Plumbing construction accounting
- Knowledge of CCDC contracts and construction billing procedures
- CPA designation or bookkeeping certification is an asset

Pay: $43,685.39-$65,744.77 per year
