Position Summary:
In this role, you will support the financial accounting team in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, treasury activities, and month-end and year-end processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on financial accounting experience within a dynamic and growing business environment. You will work closely with senior team members and be exposed to a variety of accounting and financial reporting activities across multiple entities and industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end close activities, account reconciliations, balance sheet analyses, and the preparation of working papers and supporting schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as other financial reports.
- Prepare financial analyses and supporting documentation to facilitate internal and external financial reporting requirements.
- Provide support for treasury functions, including daily cash management, bank account administration, cash flow reporting and forecasting, bank reconciliations, and the maintenance of treasury records and related documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- University degree or college diploma in accounting / business administration.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong business acumen and organizational skills.
- Energy industry experience, particularly midstream oil & gas, would be considered an asset.
- Pursuit of, or interest in pursuing a CPA designation would be advantageous.
