Overview
We are seeking vigilant, professional, and customer-focused event security guards to join our team for the Post Malone concert in Edmonton on July 25–26, 2026. Security personnel will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of concert attendees, performers, staff, and venue property while delivering a positive guest experience.
Successful candidates will be responsible for crowd management, access control, incident response, and maintaining a safe environment throughout the event. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high-energy concert setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols throughout the venue to maintain a visible security presence and deter disruptive behavior.
- Monitor assigned areas including entrances, exits, barricades, stage front, backstage access points, VIP areas, and restricted zones.
- Enforce access control by verifying tickets, credentials, wristbands, and event passes.
- Perform bag inspections and security screenings in accordance with venue and event policies.
- Assist with crowd management before, during, and after the concert to ensure safe pedestrian flow.
- Monitor the front-of-stage barricade and assist with crowd safety in high-density areas.
- Respond promptly to disturbances, intoxicated individuals, medical emergencies, lost persons, and security incidents.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts professionally and safely.
- Remove unauthorized or disruptive individuals when necessary while following company procedures.
- Maintain constant communication with supervisors and team members using two-way radios.
- Coordinate with Edmonton Police Service, EMS, Fire Services, and venue management during emergencies.
- Assist with emergency evacuations or shelter-in-place procedures if required.
- Monitor alcohol service areas and enforce venue policies regarding intoxication and prohibited conduct.
- Complete accurate incident reports and document all significant events occurring during the shift.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with directions, seating information, and general inquiries.
- Report safety hazards, suspicious activity, equipment issues, or operational concerns immediately.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company standards throughout the event.
Skills
- Previous experience in event security, customer service, law enforcement, military, or related fields is considered an asset but is not required.
- Valid Alberta Security Services Worker Licence is preferred (or willingness to obtain one if required).
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Comfortable working in large crowds, loud environments, and outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Physically capable of standing and walking for long shifts.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and late-night hours.
- Reliable transportation to and from the venue is considered an asset.
