The Events Coordinator will be part of a team that embraces innovation and continuous improvement at the Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC). The successful candidate will welcome the challenge of finding creative ways to work within a team and individually.
The successful candidate will need to be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for PCC events with the opportunity to flex their time. The Events Coordinator reports to the Manager of Resource Development.
Volunteer Coordination
-Implements and maintains a wide range of volunteer event opportunities that reflect the mission of PCC, enters data into software program, Recruits, engages and places volunteers in collaboration with the MAN VAN & Volunteer Coordinator
Fundraising & Events
· Assists the Manager of Resource Development with the planning, organizing, promoting, facilitating, and coordinating of PCC fundraising & events including creation and maintenance of annual calendars
· Works closely with marketing and communication coordinator and PCC staff
· Assists in the 3rd party event program, coordination, communication and support
· Mines data base and develops/implements engagement, prospecting with the MAN VAN & Volunteer Coordinator and Manager of Resource Development
· Develops and implements a PCC signature event
Communication:
· Fosters relationships with individuals and families, corporations, funders, and other stakeholders as required
- Builds relationships through service and follow up communication
- Conducts post-volunteer calls, emails, and surveys to track successes, collect data, and identify problems so that relationships are maintained and system improvements can be implemented
- Communicates with individuals by sending reminders and recognition letters
Other
· Other job-related duties as assigned
· Participate in staff meetings
· Annually attend a RAC 2 information session
Education /Training:
- Event planning or nonprofit management certificate is considered an asset.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in event planning and volunteer coordination is required.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of organizational, self-management, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Alignment with the mission, vision and values of PCC.
- Detail-oriented and high proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, graphic design software.
