EDUCATION:
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed vocational or technical coursework in mechanical or electrical disciplines or who hold marine-related certifications such as SVMO (Small Vessel Machinery Operator) or SVOP (Small Vessel Operator).
Additional training or coursework related to marine seamanship is considered an asset and supports the operational nature of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior work experience is required; however, experience in marine operations, mechanical or electrical support, or janitorial and general maintenance roles will be viewed as an asset.
Applicants must be physically capable of performing all job duties, including lifting up to 22 kg, frequent climbing, kneeling, crouching, rapid sweeping motions, prolonged standing, and fast-paced walking.
Candidates must also submit a current driver’s abstract showing no more than six points within the last three years and no impaired driving convictions, roadside suspensions, or prohibitions within the past five years.
A comprehensive medical examination is required prior to appointment.
