Wage: $18.00/hour-$18.50/hour
Hours: 7.5 hour shifts
Hochelaga Inn is known as one of Kingston's most iconic historic hotels. We offer fantastic accommodations and service in the fashionable historic Sydenham District, located in the center of the famous Limestone City. We pride ourselves on customer service and are looking for a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a Front Desk Agent.
The ideal candidate for this position has guest service experience, is reliable, friendly, good problem solving skills, and maintain a high standard of service and hospitality at all times.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
- Ensure guest satisfaction and revenue optimization through check in, check out and attentive coordination of hotel services for the guest.
- Check guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner using upselling techniques to maximize room rates; prepare for group check in and out and VIP arrivals.
- Check guests out of the hotel; process customer payments according to established policies and procedures.
- Resolve guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer; inform Manager/Supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests.
- Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and proper uniform.
- Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure a positive guest experience as well as to ensure the safety of staff and guests
- Answering incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answering incoming emails in a courteous and professional manner.

Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
- Previous Front Desk experience preferred
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to speak French is an asset
- Must possess an outstanding level of customer service, be punctual, and well-organized
- Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be a team player and have excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests
