Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle food products with proper sanitation and food safety practices, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and upselling items to enhance their experience
- Manage cash handling responsibilities, including cashiering duties and balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain organized and clean workstations, adhering to sanitation standards and food industry best practices
- Support inventory management through stock rotation, restocking shelves, and notifying management of low supplies
Qualifications
- Prior food service experience or restaurant background is highly preferred; experience in a deli or grocery environment is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and safety regulations within the food industry
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Micros POS; basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters positive interactions
- Effective time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen or food industry experience that demonstrates familiarity with food preparation and serving techniques
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation standards
- English/ Polish language
