DEPARTMENT: HOUSEKEEPING
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
In accordance with established policies and procedures of the organization and under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, or designated supervisor, performs general cleaning and sanitizing duties within the facility including residents rooms, staff rooms, storerooms, bathrooms, offices, public areas and other areas as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
2. Ability to deal with others effectively.
3. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
4. Ability to organize work.
5. Ability to operate related equipment.
SALARY RANGE: $25.82 hr (Housekeeping Aide)
DEPARTMENT: LAUNDRY
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
In accordance with established policies and procedures of the organization and under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, or designated supervisor, provides laundry service for the facility by operating non domestic washers and dryers. Sorts, washes, dries, labels, stores and distributes facility laundry and resident personal clothing to designated areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 10, plus two years recent experience in a commercial or industrial laundry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
2. Ability to deal with others effectively.
3. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
4. Ability to operate related equipment.
5. Ability to organize work.
6. Some knowledge of washing ingredients.
SALARY RANGE: $27.78 hr (Laundry Aide)
