Duties
- Remove damaged or broken automotive glass safely using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying adhesives to ensure proper fitment.
- Install new windshields, side windows, rear windows, and other glass components with attention to detail.
- Use heavy lifting techniques and equipment to handle large or heavy glass parts efficiently and safely.
- Conduct quality checks after installation to verify proper fitment, seal integrity, and overall safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper disposal of old glass and debris.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service procedures and answer any questions about the installation process.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or automotive repair background demonstrating familiarity with vehicle systems.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools such as pry bars, scrapers, and sealant guns.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently during installation procedures.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing during work shifts.
- Strong understanding of automotive glass specifications and installation techniques.
- Mechanic experience preferred for troubleshooting related issues that may arise during installation.
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
