Warehouse Production Associate / Relief Driver
Reports to: Production Manager, Assistant Production Manager
Purpose
The Warehouse Production Associate / Relief Driver is primarily responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the warehouse through coffee production, packaging, order fulfilment, inventory handling, and general warehouse duties. This role plays a key part in ensuring customer orders are accurately prepared, packaged, and ready for shipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
As operational needs require, the Warehouse Production Associate / Relief Driver also provides delivery coverage by operating company delivery vehicles when regular drivers are absent due to illness, vacation, or other business needs. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in both warehouse and delivery environments and be able to adapt to changing priorities.

Essential Job Functions
Warehouse Production (Primary Responsibility)
- Pick, verify, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Package, label, seal, and palletize coffee and related products.
- Receive, unload, and organize incoming inventory and materials.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks, bagging machines, hand carts, heat sealers, and forklifts (where certified).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse in accordance with company policies.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to meet daily production and shipping deadlines.
- Follow all food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety procedures.
Delivery Operations (Relief Coverage)
- Provide local customer deliveries when required due to driver vacation, illness, or increased operational demand.
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles while complying with all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Load and unload products using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Verify orders prior to departure to ensure delivery accuracy.
- Deliver products professionally and courteously while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Obtain required delivery documentation and maintain delivery records.
- Report vehicle maintenance concerns, accidents, or incidents immediately.
Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally during customer interactions.
- Respond courteously to customer questions and refer issues to the appropriate supervisor when necessary.
- Ensure products are delivered in excellent condition and placed according to customer requirements where applicable.
Workplace Environment
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding production schedules, inventory concerns, and operational issues.

- Perform routine inspections of warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles before use.
- Follow all occupational health and safety procedures and actively contribute to a safe workplace.
- Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager.
- Assist other departments as operational requirements dictate.
Education, Training and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, production, manufacturing, or distribution experience is considered an asset.
- Previous commercial driving or delivery experience is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent physical activity in a warehouse environment.
- Frequently lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of carts and racks weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and standing.
- Periods of seated driving during delivery assignments.
- Ability to read product labels, invoices, and shipping documentation.
- Continuous verbal communication with coworkers and customers.
- Exposure to warehouse dust, varying temperatures, coffee roasting equipment, forklifts, cleaning chemicals, and general warehouse conditions.
The successful candidate must be willing to work occasional overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules to meet operational requirements.
