General:
Reporting to the Production Supervisors with direction from the Production Lead Hand, Production General Labour personnel are responsible for the efficient processing of plant products as directed by product SOPs and process requirements. All duties are performed safely and efficiently. The General Labour personnel will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures. Provisions will be made to cover an employee's absence in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure proper assembly of products as needed for planned production in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow all safety, HACCP and process plans and guidelines.
- Maximize efficiencies where possible, minimize downtime, efficiently change products, and report mechanical problems promptly.
- Perform a variety of sorting and packing tasks.
- Perform line checks as needed.
- Perform all tasks to ensure compliance with the specifications of the customer product.
- Adhere to food safety and HACCP principles.
- Keep the work area clean, and free of slip and trip hazards at all times.
- Other duties as directed by Production Lead Hands and Supervisors
Qualifications Required:
- Experience with food safety and HACCP principles
- Must be dependable and hold an above-average attendance record
- Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and with little supervision
- Responsible for maintaining a hand truck and or forklift license
Working Conditions:
- Work in cold or wet and slippery plant conditions for extended periods
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
