Competition: ILT – 26-27-48 – Educational Assistant 1 (EA1)
St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) for an initial work assignment with our Division Office Complex Behavioural Support Team in the Inclusive Learning Team (ILT).
More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.
Hours of Work: 30.0 hrs. /week; 6.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary
Hourly Rate: $25.89 per hour, effective September 1, 2026, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
This position is funded through the Government of Alberta's Complexity Funding. In the event that either funding or division operational needs change, the successful candidate may be reassigned to help support complex need students at a division school.
Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

Proven experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

Experience preparing and maintaining individualized behavioural support resources is an asset
-
Verbal Intervention Training is considered an asset
-
Experience using assistive technology to support student learning is an asset

Experience collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team is an asset
-
Formal post-secondary education in a related field is preferred

Demonstrated experience working with students with complex learning and behavioural needs

Strong skills in managing student behaviour effectively and respectfully
