Dependable Emergency Vehicles is currently seeking a Pump Test / EVT On-Road Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for pump diagnostics, service, repair, maintenance, and on-road service for emergency vehicles, rescue vehicles, and specialized fire equipment throughout Atlantic Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pump testing, inspections, and performance evaluations on fire apparatus and related equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems
- Travel to customer locations to perform service, maintenance, and emergency repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete service reports
- Test and verify proper operation of pumps, valves, controls, and auxiliary systems
- Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Complete work orders, service documentation, and pump test reports accurately and efficiently
- Maintain inventory and organization of service vehicle tools and parts
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair updates with customers and management
- Assist with equipment commissioning, customer training, and warranty-related repairs
- Promote service opportunities and identify additional customer needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Truck & Transport Technician, Automotive Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Electrician, or similar trade
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with pumps, hydraulic systems, emergency vehicles, or EV systems is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and computerized diagnostic tools
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Atlantic Canada as required
- High-voltage EV certification or experience is considered an asset but not required
- EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) Certification is considered a strong asset
