Role
As an Accounting Assistant, you will leverage your organizational skills and attention to detail to support the accounting team in their day to day activities. Professional and versatile, the incumbent will carry out various administrative and accounting tasks in collaboration with the accounting team.
Reporting to the Accounting Team Leader, your goal will be to be an effective ally within the team by actively contributing to accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform and coordinate accounts payable follow ups for assigned partner(s).
- Prepare grant files, including setting up clients as vendors and gathering the required documentation.
- Create customer accounts.
- Prepare customer invoices.
- Extract, build, and compile reports and analyze them as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on various accounting tasks.
- Perform month end close activities by analyzing revenues and expenses for assigned products.
- Enter and update pre authorized payment requests in the system for assigned products.
- Follow up with customers regarding rejected payments for assigned products.
- Work closely with the Accounting Assistant for the Heat Pump product line.
- Collaborate with team members on various accounting tasks.
Ideal Requirements
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Administration, Office Administration, or another relevant field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in similar roles.
- Strong proficiency with the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Finance & Operations module and GP accounting software (an asset).
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and explain accounting data to clients.
- Enjoys teamwork and maintaining positive professional relationships.
- Known for fast learning ability and autonomy.
- Available full time, daytime hours, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours/week).
