Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Industrial Painter / Auto Body Prep Apprentice. This position offers hands-on experience in surface preparation, coating applications, with opportunities for growth in both industrial and auto body sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, blasting, and applying primers.
- Mix and apply paints, coatings, and sealers using spray guns, brushes, or rollers.
- Mask and tape areas not to be painted.
- Apply body fillers and sand smooth for automotive refinishing.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and uniformity.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and learn advanced techniques.
Skills:
- Experience in industrial painting or a similar role
- Experience sandblasting
- Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and their applications
- Ability to use hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and brushes
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting painting equipment
- Proficiency in operating a forklift or crane is desirable
