Protecnium is an international firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Surveyor to join our team for a Major Tunnel Infrastructure Project in Toronto, Canada (on-site position).
Project: Large-Scale Tunnel Infrastructure Works
Estimated duration of the position: until March 2027- In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
Summary
The Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring accurate survey control and setting-out activities across heavy civil projects. The role ensures compliance with project tolerances, supports efficient project delivery, and provides technical leadership through reliable survey data and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead survey operations on heavy civil projects, ensuring accurate setting-out and alignment.
- Control and verify geometry, position, and levels of civil works (roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, metro, etc.).
- Establish and maintain the survey control network.
- Perform and validate set-out and as-built surveys.
- Process and approve survey data in line with project tolerances.
- Monitor deformation, convergence, and settlement, proposing corrective actions when required.
- Coordinate with site teams, engineers, and digital delivery teams (BIM/scanning).
- Ensure proper equipment management, calibration, and data accuracy.
Working hours: 7/3- 7/4- 12 hours rotational shifts
Requirements
- Degree in Surveying or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field surveyor in heavy civil projects (roads, highways, railways, bridges, tunnels, metro, etc.).
- Strong experience in setting out, alignment control, and as-built surveys on infrastructure works.
- Experience with point clouds, Civil 3D, and survey data processing.
- Solid understanding of survey control networks and construction tolerances (line, level, convergence, settlement).
- Ability to work in dynamic site environments with strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with digital tools, automation, and data integration systems.
- English level: B2 minimum.

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
