Hours: 12-hour shifts (Continental days/nights)
Payrate: $ 24.00/hr
Overtime Method: Averaging agreement over 88 hours

Job Overview: In Downtown Toronto, our Security Professionals will oversee a busy retail and commercial environment with high pedestrian traffic. Security staff are responsible for access control, mobile patrols, monitoring activity, and responding to incidents while delivering strong customer service to tenants, employees, and visitors in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular patrols of the shopping centre, including common areas, corridors, and exterior entrances, to ensure a safe and secure environment

Monitor CCTV systems and respond to any suspicious activity, theft, or safety concerns

Provide a strong security presence to deter theft, loitering, and disruptive behaviour

Assist shoppers, tenants, and visitors with directions, inquiries, and general support

Respond to incidents such as disturbances, medical emergencies, alarms, and lost persons in a timely manner

Work closely with mall management and tenants to address security concerns and ensure smooth daily operations

Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate daily activity logs

Enforce site policies and procedures, including access control where required

Support emergency response procedures, including evacuations and coordination with first responders

Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while representing the organization on site.
Prerequisites:
-
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
-
Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude

Prior experience in security and/or post-secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset

Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the certifications with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
