Make a difference
This Business Planner will play a key role supporting the HoMES (Yardi) project. The Business Analyst provides data analysis, reporting, and business insights to support project delivery, performance monitoring, and decision-making across Finance, ITS, and Operations.
What you'll do
Data Analysis:
-
Perform research and analysis on a regular and ad hoc basis to support Homes project decision-making .
-
Ensure the integrity, quality and accuracy of data.
-
Tell impactful stories with data by designing and developing data visualizations and dashboards.
-
Provide feedback on business metrics, performance measures and indicators to ensure the company has the necessary insight to monitor progress and improve business and system processes.

Conduct analysis to assist with the development of benchmarks and standards.
-
Assist in the development, standardization and maintenance of data definitions across the organization.
Requirements Management:
-
Identify data gaps and emerging information needs to support business performance and progress on strategies.
-
Be a liaison between Finance, ITS and business units supporting Homes for prioritized initiatives.
-
Identify new sources of data andHomes system and integration requirements.
-
Assist in facilitating Design Thinking workshops, developing personas and writing user stories.
-
Translate needs into business or functional requirements specification.
Stakeholder Relationships:
-
Be a champion for TCHC’s Homes / Yardi data and reporting objectives
-
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business units.
-
Provide advice, support and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders about data administration, governance and analysis.
-
Effectively explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences, helping to foster a culture of data-driven decision making for Homes initiatives.

Assist in the development and management of tracking systems for outcomes identified in business plans for business units.
Research:
-
Participate in research projects with external and internal partners.
-
Manage relationships with external research partners and assist with access to TCHC data.
-
Collaborate with division and other staff to interpret data, identify trends, communicate meaning and develop recommendations based on findings.
What you'll need
-
Post secondary education in a related field. University degree is preferred
-
3 years - Previous experience performing data analysis and developing reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making in a corporate environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Strong analytical, process and project management skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
-
Strong intellectual curiosity and interest in social housing
-
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
-
Comfortable conducting statistical analyses, such as regression and time series
-
Strong understanding of databases and data modelling concepts
-
SQL experience (desirable)
-
Experience with Agile delivery methods (desirable)
