About the role
We are a busy family looking for a warm, capable person to become a trusted "third parent" in our household. You will work directly with our two children (ages 6 and 9), supporting their learning, their activities, and their daily routine.
This is not a babysitting job. We are looking for someone who wants to be a steady, long-term presence — someone who takes initiative, notices what needs doing, and genuinely enjoys kids.
What you'll do
- Tutor and support homework, reading, and skill-building tailored to each child
- Engage the children in age-appropriate conversations, games, and activities that build social skills and confidence
- Safely drive the children to and from school, sports, appointments, and activities
- Support daily routines — meals, prep, transitions, bedtime as needed
- Keep the children's spaces and gear organized
- Provide parents with clear daily updates on schedules, progress, and anything that comes up
What we're looking for
- Genuine enjoyment of and experience with school-age children
- Experience supporting children with special needs is a strong asset
- Mandarin language skills a bonus
- Valid Ontario driver's licence, clean driving record, and a reliable, insured vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends
- Reliable and punctual — the school and activity schedule depends on you
- Must be able to provide caregiver/professional liability insurance — this is required to be paid under the Ontario Health atHome Family-Managed Care program
To apply
Send your resume and a short note about your experience with children. Please confirm you can meet the insurance, licence, and police check requirements.
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
