Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, promoting oral health, and supporting the overall operations of our dental team. Duties
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist with patient examinations and record findings accurately in Dentrix or other dental software systems
- Support orthodontic procedures when necessary, including assisting with braces adjustments and related treatments
- Provide care tailored to pediatric patients, ensuring comfort and effective communication
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols
- Manage patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and ensure a smooth flow of the clinic’s daily operations
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Handle administrative tasks such as updating patient records and processing insurance claims
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice
- Experience working with Dentrix or similar dental management software preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures is advantageous
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Prior experience in a dental office setting is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and cared for
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health care
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $48.00-$55.00 per hour
