London International Academy is located in London, Ontario. We specialize in grades 9 through 12 with a devoted interest in excellence in education and has been operating since 2002. English Teacher - High school
Start date: August 26, 2026 semester
Required to teach the Ontario Ministry approved English course(s) for the high school levels 10 to 12. The ability to work with a diverse student body is essential. We are looking for an energetic and creative person who is comfortable thinking outside the box, at ease with teens and able to deliver the course material in a clear and engaging manner. The students are looking for an engaging and inspiring introduction to English.
Qualifications:
- Must have minimum 1 year teaching experience in ESL or English at Highschool level
- Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) preferred not mandatory.
- Must be familiar with the Ministry of Education Curriculum and Growing Success
- Preferred experience in teaching Gr.11-12 English and/or ESL(TESOL)
- Outstanding expertise in subject area and ability to provide effective experiential learning
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude, highly responsible; able to motivate and inspire students
- Able to help students with diverse educational backgrounds and learning ability
Job Description:
- Teach Ontario Secondary School curriculum at a high level of proficiency
- Assess and identify students’ individual learning needs
- Teach students using a variety of techniques: lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations
- Assign and correct homework, provide feedback to contribute to students’ progress.
- Evaluate and review the progress of students and discuss progress results with students and Parents
Compensation: Full-time $38,000 to $43,000 per year (7 courses per year)
Part-time: $35 hourly (110 hours per course/semester)
Our faculty is extremely professional and supportive. Experience working in a private school is beneficial.
