Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Mortgage Underwriter/Trainer to join our dynamic financial services team. This role involves evaluating complex commercial mortgage applications, assessing risk, and providing comprehensive training to new underwriters. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of financial data collection and risk analysis. Duties
- Analyze and underwrite commercial mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Conduct detailed risk assessments by evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and property valuations
- Gather and interpret relevant data to support underwriting decisions
- Negotiate loan terms with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to reach mutually beneficial agreements
- Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing underwriters, enhancing their understanding of underwriting procedures and risk management strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including credit analysts, appraisers, and legal professionals to facilitate smooth loan processing
- Maintain accurate documentation of all underwriting activities and decisions in accordance with company policies
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial mortgage underwriting within the financial services industry
- Strong background in data collection, financial analysis, and risk assessment techniques
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and effective communication with clients and internal teams
- Knowledge of accounting principles, mathematical skills, and financial statement analysis is essential
- Prior experience in training or mentoring colleagues is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with current regulatory requirements related to commercial lending is advantageous
This role is integral to maintaining our commitment to sound lending practices while fostering professional development within our team.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
