Location: North York, ON – Hybrid - 2-3 days per week on-site
Contract Duration: Up to 3 years with a possibility of extension or conversion to permanent
Working Hours: M-F 37.5 hours per week

Additional Information:
- Staff will be required to attend any site visits or the client offices with 24 hours’ notice. As working within the client offices and participating in on-site visits is a requirement of the position.
- Consultants will be provided with a non-employee ID that would allow the consultant staff to travel in free of cost.
- Personal Protective Equipment - Client will provide safety vest, hardhat, safety glasses and reflective bands. Consultant shall obtain safety shoes that meets client safety requirements.
About the Role
Job Title: Electrical Design Draftsperson
Scope of Work:
- CADD drafting and design of electrical systems for commercial and industrial applications, including power supply, distribution and protection with minimum supervision.
- Select switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, cabling, power distribution and sizing of equipment for building systems.
- Design normal and emergency lighting systems.
- Utilize electrical software related to electrical engineering. Use of Lighting Simulation and Protection Coordination software would be an asset.
- Work effectively in a team environment and coordinating with other disciplines.
- Review existing site conditions and prepare inspection reports identifying code violations and make design recommendations.
- Work effectively in both a design office and construction site under inclement weather conditions.
- Utilize written and communications skills for report writing, presentations and normal co-ordination.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to make design-related decisions or recommendations.
- Attend internal and external co-ordination meetings with other disciplines, and/or Departments to establish end user requirements.
- Meet with suppliers, manufactures and municipal authorities, as required.
- Ability to co-ordinate, organize, plan, schedule and monitor work activity, progress and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering or College diploma in Engineering Technology.
- Possess a minimum of four (4) months of related experience for the Draftsperson and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience for the Engineering Technologist role.
- Possess knowledge and experience with CADD MicroStation, or as a less desirable alternative AutoCAD, to prepare CADD drawings based on own design and the design of others.
- Knowledge and experience with Revit would be an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant codes and standards pertaining to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Ontario Building Code.
- Knowledge of government regulations, legislation and standards, safety regulations, and procedures applicable to the project.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and work with multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and obtain cooperation from a diverse group of internal and external project stakeholders to achieve the goals and objectives of the project.
- Proficiency in the use of a PC and software applications related to the work (Microsoft Office).
- Demonstrate or proven ability in organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
