Teacher Librarian
Part-time (0.6 FTE), Term Position
École Pauline Johnson Elementary School
Effective September 8, 2026 until June 30th, 2027
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
This position is responsible for providing teacher-librarian services at École Pauline Johnson Elementary School, a French Immersion school, supporting students and staff through inclusive, innovative, and engaging library programming.
Required Qualifications and Experience

valid BC Ministry of Education teaching certificate
-
teacher-librarian qualifications or coursework in library science

demonstrated experience in an elementary school setting

strong understanding of the BC Curriculum and core competencies

ability to support inquiry-based and project-based learning

experience promoting literacy development and a love of reading

ability to integrate technology to support teaching and learning

knowledge of current best practices in information literacy and digital citizenship

demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff

commitment to social-emotional learning and student well-being

ability to curate and manage a diverse and inclusive collection of learning resources

strong organizational and communication skills

demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment

ability to support a French Immersion school context; native-like fluency in French is considered a strong asset
