We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated educator to provide one-on-one support for a child requiring individualized assistance within our program. This position is funded by FSCD. Position Summary
The successful candidate will provide individualized support to help a child participate safely and successfully in daily routines, learning experiences, and social interactions. Working alongside classroom educators and leadership, you will implement individualized support strategies that foster inclusion, emotional regulation, communication, and independence.
Training, mentorship, and ongoing support will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support throughout the day.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment.
- Support participation in classroom routines, play experiences, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and daily activities.
- Implement individualized support plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Encourage communication, emotional regulation, social development, and independence.
- Maintain accurate observations and documentation.
- Collaborate professionally with educators, leadership, families, and external professionals, as appropriate.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in accordance with Alberta licensing requirements.

Physical & Working Conditions
This is an active role within a busy early learning environment.
The successful candidate should be able to:
- Spend the majority of the workday standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and participating in children's activities.
- Move quickly throughout the classroom and playground to actively supervise and support children.
- Assist children during transitions and daily routines.
- Respond appropriately to behaviours that may occur during periods of emotional dysregulation using approved positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.
- Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment while supporting the safety and well-being of all children.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification (Level 2, or 3).
- Current First Aid & CPR Level C.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Alberta Child Intervention Check.
- Experience supporting children with additional support needs is considered an asset but is not required.
- Experience working in inclusive early learning environments is an asset.
Pay: $18.64-$26.62 per hour
