About Us
At en-abled, we partner with businesses and organizations to help them become truly disability-friendly. We focus on auditing, reviewing, and transforming hiring practices and workplaces to meet—and exceed—legislated accessibility standards. Our goal is to remove barriers and build inclusive workplace cultures from the ground up.
The Role
As the Executive & Research Assistant, you will be the right hand to the Founder. This is a dual-focus role. You will spend half of your time conducting deep-dive research into provincial and federal accessibility laws to help build our client-facing resources. The other half of your time will be spent providing direct administrative, technical, and scribing support to the Founder.
Guaranteed minimum of three months with high potential to extend contract term
If you are highly organized, legally curious, tech-savvy, and passionate about disability rights, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Scribing & Note-Taking: Act as a scribe for the Founder (who is neurodivergent) during meetings, brain-dump sessions, and document creation. You must be able to translate spoken ideas and raw thoughts into highly structured, polished, and beautifully formatted business documents.
- Regulatory Research: Assist in researching, compiling, and detailing provincial (Ontario) and federal accessibility laws, codes, and employment standards.
- Document Design & Formatting: Design, format, and organize client-facing guides, checklists, and compliance reports using tools like MS Word, Google Docs, or Canva, ensuring all outputs are themselves fully accessible (e.g., screen-reader friendly).
- Basic IT & Tech Support: Manage basic troubleshooting, set up collaborative digital workspaces (like Gemini AI, Word, or Google Workspace), and organize our digital filing systems.
helpful Skills & Qualifications
- Exceptional Scribing & Listening Skills: The ability to actively listen, organize spoken information on the fly, and ask clarifying questions without losing the flow of a meeting.
- Advanced Formatting & Computer Literacy: High proficiency in styling documents, managing templates, and ensuring clean layout structures.
- Attention to Detail: You will be handling legal regulations; accuracy in referencing clauses and compliance thresholds is non-negotiable.
- Basic IT Aptitude: Comfortable managing software,(ie. Office/Google documents/iWork suite) troubleshooting basic tech hiccups, and keeping files secure.
- Empathy & Communication: A collaborative, patient, and communication-first mindset. Experience working with or supporting neurodivergent individuals is a major asset.
