Summary
Well Technicians are the backbone of Insitu Contractors Drilling and Dewatering operations. Senior Well Technicians have demonstrate leadership and ownership of the projects and tasks they are given in addition to the technical expertise they have learned as a Water Well Technician. This role is vital for the successful execution of dewatering and other construction projects as the primary installer and maintenance technicians on all projects.
Specific Job Duties;
Install, operate and maintain groundwater dewatering systems including;
- Wells and submersible pumps
- Wellpoints and wellpoint pumps
- Eductor systems
- Sedimentation and Treatment systems
- Header and discharge lines
- Flowmeters and electronic monitoring equipment.
Inspect, monitor and maintain accurate logs of system performance including water levels, flow rates and maintenance activity to ensure the effectiveness of dewatering systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with pumps, system components as required.
Decommission wells and wellpoints as required using approved methods.
Operate heavy machinery as needed for the installation, placement or remove of wells, materials and dewatering equipment.
Participate in rotating On-Call work for after hours maintenance and troubleshooting
Complete all work in compliance with safety regulations, laws and environmental regulations including O.Reg. 903
Coordinate an assigned team of field personnel, labourers, well technicians, environmental technicians and others as assigned, for the purposes of installing and operating dewatering systems.
- Supervise and direct personnel to appropriate and relevant tasks as required
- Provide ongoing training and support to personnel assigned to the team
- Coordinate with site supervisors for installation and demobilisation needs
- Coordinate with Operations and Project Managers for site specific timelines and objectives.
- Provide feedback to Project Managers and Human Resources regarding team performance and professional development
- Ensure assigned team works in accordance with SWPs and uses required PPE
Work Environment;
- Working on various construction and sites in Ontario and also at our shop locations as needed.
- Outdoor/indoor work, all seasons
- Potential high noise environment
- Unknown/untested water contaminants possible

Requirements;
Possession of a valid Water Well Technician Licence, Class 1, 3 or 4.
Completion of Drilling and Blasting Certificate or equivalent an asset.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and operation manuals
Valid Class G drivers license
Operator certificates for heavy equipment an asset
Able to lift up to 50lbs

Pay: $32.00-$37.00 per hour
