About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the full accounting cycle and ensure accurate financial reporting for a growing organization. The ideal candidate is a CPA (or equivalent) with strong technical accounting skills, hands-on ERP experience, and expertise in managing multi-currency and intercompany transactions.
This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently while supporting management with timely financial information and maintaining compliance with Canadian tax and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- General Ledger
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Journal entries
- Month-end and year-end closing
- Payroll and T4 preparation
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain and reconcile multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange adjustments.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
- Prepare GST/HST and other statutory filings as required.
- Prepare and file corporate income tax returns (T2) using UFile Tax software.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during year-end audits and tax engagements.
- Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and corporate policies.
- Assist management with special projects.
Qualifications
- CPA designation or equivalent required.
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting.
- Previous experience in an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant role preferred.
- Advanced experience using ERP accounting systems.
- Strong understanding of multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange transactions.
- Experience managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience preparing and filing T2 corporate tax returns using UFile Tax.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a multi-entity environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax and accounting regulations.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
