Position Summary
The Facility Assistant supports day-to-day operations at the Condie and Aylesbury grain facilities, including receiving, handling, processing and shipping grain and special crops. The role includes grain sampling, loading and unloading railcars and trucks, shipping documentation, general housekeeping and assisting with equipment operation. The successful candidate will primarily work at Condie and will occasionally travel to other MobilGrain terminals throughout Saskatchewan to provide operational support as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect grain samples for quality analysis.
- Assist with receiving, handling, processing and shipping grain and special crops.
- Prepare, weigh and load railcars for transport.
- Receive and accurately record incoming products, identifying and reporting quality issues, damages or shortages.
- Complete and maintain shipping documentation and grain samples.
- Assist with the operation of facility and material-handling equipment as required.
- Perform general housekeeping, warehouse and facility maintenance duties to maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
- Travel to other MobilGrain locations throughout Saskatchewan on occasion to provide operational support, and assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to travel to other MobilGrain locations as required.
- Previous equipment operation experience is preferred.
- Previous grain, special crops, agricultural, industrial or facility experience is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication, organization and attention to detail; basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills; dependable self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Regular schedule based on facility operational requirements.
- Irregular and overtime hours may be required during busy seasons.
- Occasional travel to other MobilGrain terminals throughout Saskatchewan as operationally required.
- Outdoor and physical work in varying weather conditions.
- Additional hours may be required to support receiving and shipping activities.
