Responsibilities
- Coordinate international freight shipments, including booking arrangements with clients, shipping lines, airlines, and other transportation providers, while coordinating pickups and deliveries with trucking companies and warehouses.
- Prepare, process, and maintain accurate shipment documentation, billing, and invoicing using the company's cloud-based Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Monitor shipment progress proactively, identify operational exceptions, and communicate timely updates and solutions to customers, carriers, and overseas partners.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with customers, carriers, vendors, and overseas partners to support smooth, high-quality service delivery.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and operational communications while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable transportation and customs regulations.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including warehouse, customs brokerage, accounting, and sales teams, to ensure smooth and efficient shipment execution.
- Support process improvement efforts by flagging inefficiencies and suggesting adjustments within day-to-day operations.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in international freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or a related industry.
- Solid understanding of international transportation processes, including ocean and/or air freight operations.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook; experience with TMS or freight forwarding software is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
