The School of Public Policy is Canada's leading policy school, which provides hands-on training in Canada and abroad through a Master of Public Policy (MPP), MSc in Sustainable Energy Development, and Executive Training Programs. Its alumni can be found in leadership positions in the private, public and non-profit sectors across Canada.
The MPP Graduate Program invites applications for sessional instructor appointments to teach the following courses:
Winter 2027
PPOL 699.02: Trade Negotiation
This is a skills-based course on how to design and implement a government¿s trade negotiations strategy. The course will examine each stage in trade negotiations, using real-life cases and simulations to apply the knowledge learned. Practical examples will be drawn from both developed and developing countries. The course is based on the experience of current and former trade negotiators and diplomats from Canada, the US, the UK, Russia, Africa, the Caribbean, and several Latin American and Asian countries. Though the course is focused on trade negotiations, the skills taught are directly applicable to a wide range of sectors and careers.
Position Requirements
The School of Public policy is seeking a candidate with excellent teaching credentials and a demonstrated background in the subject matter for the course. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching, particularly at the post-graduate level, and ideally hold an earned doctoral degree in an area closely related to the course to be taught. Applicants must be eligible to travel internationally, specifically to the United States of America. Previous involvement with the MPP program is an asset.
