Overview
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Chauffeur de camion poids lourd (Classe 1) to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance. A valid Class 1 license is essential, along with experience in freight delivery and automotive repair. Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks (Class 1) for freight transportation over short and long distances
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly before transit to prevent damage or accidents
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic automotive repairs to maintain optimal truck performance
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during deliveries
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Assist with warehouse operations when required, including freight handling and inventory management
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight delivery, or logistics operations
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is a plus
- Experience in automotive repair or basic vehicle maintenance is desirable
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations
