Job Summary
Tailwind Ltd. is a Cayman Islands-based boutique private credit and financial advisory firm, sourcing, underwriting, and placing debt with private investors, family offices, and institutions. We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to take the senior execution seat on our credit team. Reporting directly to the President — who sets deal priorities and approves credit decisions — you will own the credit work end to end: building the models, writing the credit memos, negotiating terms, running closings, and monitoring the portfolio. This is a high-responsibility role with real deal ownership from day one, direct exposure to live transactions, and room to grow as the firm launches its Cayman-domiciled credit fund.
Duties
- Personally perform credit underwriting for new and existing transactions — build financial models (cash-flow, leverage, collateral, sensitivity, and capital-structure analysis) to an institutional standard.
- Prepare and present complete credit memoranda, deal-forum materials, and pitch decks carrying a clear credit recommendation.
- Structure facilities — pricing, fees, amortisation, security, and covenant packages — balancing borrower needs with investor risk-return requirements.
- Negotiate term sheets and key credit and legal terms with borrowers, sponsors, and their advisers; instruct and manage external counsel through documentation.
- Own the closing process from approved terms through funding: conditions-precedent checklists, security registrations and filings, covenant compliance certificates, and coordination of all parties to the timeline.
- Own the centralised tracking of all loan maturities, extension deadlines, security and registration renewal dates, and covenant testing dates — providing advance reminders and escalations so no key date is ever missed.
- Monitor the portfolio for early-warning signals, test covenants on schedule, run periodic credit reviews, and manage amendments, extensions, and waivers through documentation and execution.
- Prepare accurate, timely internal and investor reporting on portfolio status, covenant compliance, and upcoming key dates.
- Help build the firm's credit machine — underwriting templates, closing checklists, and credit procedures — and support the launch of the Cayman Credit Fund.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA or CPA (or substantial progress toward one) is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in credit, lending, or corporate finance (bank, private credit fund, direct lender, or advisory), with demonstrated deal-execution responsibility.
- Hands-on experience with loan documentation — facility agreements, security packages, covenants — and negotiating terms with borrowers and counsel.
- Strong financial modelling skills: able to build a three-statement or cash-flow model from scratch and defend every line.
- Proven ownership of closings or transaction management — CP checklists, registrations and filings, funding mechanics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisation; experience owning trackers, checklists, and recurring monitoring calendars.
- Strong written and verbal communication for presenting credit recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Self-directed and reliable in a remote-first environment, with availability during Eastern Time (ET) business hours.
- Familiarity with Cayman Islands or other offshore security registration regimes is a plus.
This role offers a competitive base salary plus performance-based bonuses, including participation in the economics of the deals you close, along with remote-first flexible working, unlimited vacation used at your discretion, a private health insurance allowance, and home-office equipment. If you want to run transactions rather than feed a committee, this seat is built for you.
