About TMM Projects
TMM Projects is a locally owned First Nations contracting company headquartered in Sparwood, BC. We provide civil construction and mining services, primarily supporting open-pit mine sites throughout BC’s Rocky Mountains.
Our fleet includes a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including:
- 5–90 tonne excavators
- D6–D11 dozers
- 30–100 tonne rock trucks
- Various other heavy equipment used in civil construction and mining operations

Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities
Depending on your position and experience, responsibilities may include:
- Safely operate excavators, dozers, rock trucks, and other heavy equipment
- Operate equipment on steep slopes of up to approximately 26° / 45% grade
- Work in industrial, mining, construction, forestry, and remote environments
- Follow supervisor direction and work toward daily production goals
- Maintain TMM Projects' quality and production standards
- Complete pre-operation inspections and equipment checks
- Perform routine greasing, cleaning, and basic equipment care as required
- Identify and report equipment or safety concerns
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Follow all site and company safety procedures and protocols
- Perform light manual labour as required
Labourer Responsibilities
Labourers will support our crews and equipment operators with a variety of site activities, including:
- General site cleanup and housekeeping
- Spotting and assisting heavy equipment operators
- Performing manual labour and repetitive tasks
- Lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Assisting with tools, materials, and equipment
- Supporting civil construction and mining activities as required
- Working safely around heavy equipment and active work areas
- Following supervisor direction and site safety procedures
- Completing other general labour duties as assigned
Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications
We are looking for experienced operators. Depending on the position, preference will be given to candidates with:
- 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Experience operating D10/D11 dozers or equivalent-sized equipment
- Experience operating 5–90 tonne excavators
- Rock truck operating experience
- Experience in civil construction, open-pit mining, forestry, or similar industrial environments
- GPS/machine control experience is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Ability to successfully complete required drug testing
- Physically fit for duty and able to safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform light manual labour and repetitive tasks as required
Labourer Qualifications
- Previous construction, mining, industrial, or general labour experience is an asset
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment and active job sites
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a team
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Ability to successfully complete required drug testing
- Physically fit for duty and able to safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform manual labour and repetitive tasks throughout the shift
